State of the Art Equipment
UniSea's Dutch Harbor production facility is one of the largest and most
automated seafood plants in the world.
UniSea's Dutch Harbor production facility was greatly expanded in 1990 with the
opening to the G2 plant for processing of pollock into surimi. Prior to 1990,
UniSea produced surimi in the G1 plant, which began in 1986 as Great Land
Seafoods. The GLS brand of surimi is world renown as the premier shore side
produced surimi. Our surimi is manufactured with technology supplied by Nissui
and further developed by UniSea's dedicated team of Production, R&D, Quality
Assurance, and Maintenance personnel.
In the late 1990's UniSea ventured into more fillet production and continues to
expand its processing to meet the market's demand for quality whitefish
products.
