"The mission of Lynnfield High School is to create a community of learners where students can gain knowledge and master skills necessary for success in life. LHS teachers, administrators, and staff believe that mutual respect, responsibility, and ethical behavior create an atmosphere that encourages students to become responsible citizens, competent problem solvers, independent thinkers, and effective communicators in order to become life-long learners.

Lynnfield, a suburban town of approximately 12,000 people, is located 12 miles north of Boston at the junctions of routes 1 and 128. The population is comprised primarily of commuting professionals and business people who are deeply committed to supporting quality education. There are currently (as of the 2003-04 school year) 508 students enrolled at Lynnfield High School.

Lynnfield High School has a staff of certified counselors who assist students in dealing with a wide range of issues including academic, career exploration, postsecondary options, transition to high school and personal problems.

The Guidance and Counseling program at LHS has been founded on the premise that each student is important as an individual. By means of counseling and testing, each individual discovers his/ser interests, abilities and potential so that he/she may become a more effective student. The LHS Guidance Department recognizes that students grow and develop through a series of stages from childhood to adulthood. Through meeting with the students in both individual as well as group setting, we hope to assist each student as they progress from one stage to the next."
